Translated from The Sudanese Al-Hadaf February 26, 2025

‎The United Nations has warned that Sudan faces the risk of falling into the abyss, and the possibility that hundreds of thousands of its citizens will perish unless the devastating war in the country ends and aid flows in. ‎
‎The UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, Volker Türk, painted a bleak picture of Sudan, telling the Human Rights Council: “I cannot overstate the gravity of the situation in Sudan, the painful plight of the Sudanese people, and the urgent need with which we must act to alleviate ‎‎their suffering.
‎He added that the devastating humanitarian crisis that began since the outbreak of armed conflict in 2023 has led to the world’s largest humanitarian catastrophe.‎
‎Humanitarian agencies warn that in the absence of action to end the war, provide emergency aid, and get agriculture back on track, hundreds of thousands of people could die.‎

‎Dozens were killed and wounded in artillery shelling on the Abu Shouk camp and Naivasha IDP market in El Fasher.
Dozens are killed and wounded in heavy artillery shelling of the Abu Shouk camp and the Vasha IDP market in North Darfur.
The Coordination of Displaced Persons and Refugees said in a statement, a copy of which was received by Al-Hadaf, that the Abu Shouk camp and the Naivasha market for displaced people witnessed this morning, March 2, 2025, the second of the blessed month of Ramadan, heavy artillery shelling with heavy weapons by the forces of the Rapid Support Forces, which led to 4 displaced people and the injury of more than 11 others with injuries of varying severity.
Coordination of IDPs and Refugees:
The army and the RSF used food as a weapon to starve the displaced
‎The Coordination of IDP and Refugee Camps held the army and the RSF responsible for the worsening humanitarian situation in the IDP camps in Darfur, noting that they used food as a weapon to starve the displaced.‎
‎It said in a statement, a copy of which was received by Al-Hadaf, that the suspension of the activities of “Médecins Sans Frontières” in Zamzam camp, along with the suspension of the work of many other organizations, portends an imminent danger on the horizon, mainly due to all conflicting parties and their supporters. ‎
‎The army and joint forces have turned the camps into battlefields, while the RSF enforces blockades and launches attacks, leading to casualties, especially women, children, and the elderly, she said.‎
‎The statement pointed to the worsening humanitarian situation in the camps for the displaced, especially the camps of Zamzam, Abu Shouk, and Abuja, in addition to the shelters, in light of the siege imposed on them for more than ten months, and accused the two parties of using food as a weapon to starve against the displaced.‎
