Renewed Urgent Appeal to the Humanity
Date: 25th August 2025.
Dear Colleagues in the Global Academic Community, Greetings of humanity, life, and the shared values that unite us as people of this world.
The United Nations and its specialized agencies have recently declared a state of famine in the Gaza Strip. This alarming declaration is a final warning before a full-scale humanitarian catastrophe unfolds — one that may lead to the death of thousands of Palestinians in Gaza if the current famine, caused by the ongoing war led by Israeli occupation forces, is not urgently halted. We speak to you today as the humanitarian situation in Gaza has reached a catastrophic level: severe hunger, a total lack of clean water, an acute shortage of medicine, and the collapse of basic life systems. We, as members of the global academic community, cannot remain silent in the face of this devastating reality. Our moral and human responsibility compels us to raise our voices above all political calculations, with a sincere call to the conscience of the world: Stop the war. End the starvation. Open the crossings immediately to allow the urgent delivery of food, water, and medicine. Save the lives of innocent civilians, children, women, and the elderly, who are now on the brink of death. The right to life, freedom, and human dignity are universal rights, guaranteed to all peoples — including the Palestinian people. With Deepest Respect and Solidarity, Academics, Researchers, and Scholars around the World. Note: We kindly urge you to share this urgent appeal as widely as possible and in all languages, so that it reaches every nation and every government across the globe.
